I mean, not at the part that describes the deaths and injuries. These were children, after all. But I have to ask, WHERE WERE THEIR PARENTS??? Come to think of it, I still ask that question regularly.
My sisters and I had the Creepy Crawlers set (being girls who threw grasshoppers at boys), and we all miraculously still have our fingerprints. I learned all about hot things helping my grandmothers in the kitchen, thank you. It said the thing got hot right on the directions.
I also had a chemistry set, though not one with radioactive materials in it. Made the house smell like sulphur a couple of times. Used the alcohol burner without burning the house down. It was a lot of fun.
For real radioactivity, there were always Fiestaware's orange dishes, not to mention the battery of head Xrays I got every six months at the dentist. Am I glad my kids wear lead shields now when they get Xrays? Yes.
