The president was not bribed

The most notorious bribed french politician was Charles Pasqua.
In 1994, he was the french interior minister when the Airbus was highjacked. He had heard the algerian terrorists were planning, after leaving Marseilles, to crash the plane on the Eiffel tower.
That is why he ordered (with Balladur) the GIGN to storm in the plane while it was still at Marseilles. France (and all those including me who saw the TV news pogram) realized terrorists could go to that extend way back early 1995 and that was revealed by Pasqua.

Pasqua had many other judicial issues that made him quite unpopular even when Chirac was president.
That's why every time americans come back with the bribes issues, I can't help but laugh. Saddam didn't choose the right guy.

All those who were against this war even before it started knew several things: you know when a war starts, you don't know when it will end.
A war is an extremely serious matter and you had better show the enemy was a direct danger to you, but Bush never could do that.
Anyway, we know what the situation is now, and I don't have to feel ashamed by what those I vote for, did.
