Most economic indicators are in pretty good shape right now. I suspect that if a Democrat were president, we'd be seeing a whole new light on this from the media.
As for trade deficits, they are increasing, but it's obvious that there's more to it than who's the president or simple economic growth factors. I've notice that it tracks oil prices pretty well.
