The march of progress
I agree it's a good thing (Martha). As with Flash drives, the amount of junk I seem to want to carry around expands to fill, and eventually overflow, the latest storage technology.
I remember being in absolute awe, years ago, of my friend's computer, which had an unimaginable 40 Meg harddrive. I wish I could feel that awe again, but each step up the ladder now seems simply more inevitable than magical. Doesn't make it any less of a good thing, though.
Considering the size of my CD and DVD collections, I'm THRILLED to read of backward-compatibility in Blu-Ray equipment.
