It is widely agreed, even among the top military leadership, that any "peace" in Iraq will have to be political. That is negotiated by and between all affected parties. That includes the Kurds, Shii, Sunni, AND Iranians and Syria. They have an interest in what happens, too, and an influence.

After all, Iran fought Iraq, acting as a US surrogate, for 8 years. One wouldn't blame them for not wanting another US backed Iraqi regime just waiting to fight another war against them. The US wouldn't want a Canadian government which was a puppet of Iran, either.

But rather than deal with the political realities, Bush disdains diplomacy in favor of threats, insults, and aggression. He thinks that every country in the world must back down to him because his daddy was GHWB and he's GWB. And they won't.

"U.S. troops authorized to kill Iranians in Iraq. Policy on operatives stirs concern among some U.S. officials."

And innocent people all over the world suffer. Because Americans allowed this man and Republicans to steal two elections.

Tragic.
