A lot of equipment, includnig most PCs, adjust for DST on the previously standard dates - if some things switch an hour on the new date and some don't, it could cause problems - all sorts of issues, probably not many life-threatening, come to mind.... a lot to do with financial transactions but also times for shift work, etc, etc.
