Lindzen is on a panel with several other people. One is Heidi Cullen. She gained fame recently by demanding that meteorologists that don't buy into the party line on global warming be decertified, and represents the "dogma" faction. Morris is a well-known free-market economist. Bill Nye is a mechanical engineer and although not a meteorlogical scientist, is no idiot. I don't know why he sometimes sounds like one here.

Nye had a valid point on the influence of fresh water on ocean currents. A sudden influx at the end of the Ice Age (some huge, collapsing ice dams of some kind that flushed a freshwater inland sea into the ocean via the St. Lawrence seaway) had a very drastic short-term climactic influence. Don't know if the long-term release from normally melting ice would do that, but it's not something to be ignored.

The words "nuclear power" appeared only once, in an outtake of a speech by Bush. I think that's part of our problem.

IMO, I think King blew it by not having a pro-warming scientist of an equivalent standing to Lindzen to argue with him. I suspect Lindzen's attitude may have been partially due to a certain lack of seriousness of the King show on this subject. But then, I suppose King would have been left so far behind he wouldn't even have seen any taillights.
