Matter as we know it simply the condensation of super-saturated areas, with most of it still in string form floating around out there.
Gravity as a function of the interaction of concentrations of strings which have coalesced into matter, denser there, still operating within the "free" strings, though more diffuse.
It amazes me how the human mind, evolved as it was to pilot a hunter-gatherer, can reach so far to understand so much that isn't directly involved with finding a nut, digging a root or roasting a grasshopper.
