"No city, town, village, family unit, or no nation or vast empire in the history of humankind has had all the resources for survival in situ."
"If this was true, human kind would've died out immediately. Come on. Trade originally was for unique or luxury items, not survival. There was a time when trade was either non-existent or minimal. "
Early humans did not stay in one location, instead they moved from one location to another, any humans at any time that stayed in one location had to trade or they would have died out- this is true of individuals, cities, and nations at all times throughout history. The most prosperous humans would always be those humans which traded a lot. You simply can not stop humans from trading and if you some how managed to stop humans from trading, they would die. Humans do not trade because they bored or something, but rather because it is necessary for survival.
"Right now if all international trade was cut off from the US, would we all die? I think not. lol. This was almost too silly to respond to."
Yes if you could do this the US would die, and it would be a guaranteed way to get whoever is trying to stop the US from trading into a war with the US.
Sanctions are warfare. No Sanction ever imposed stopped all trade. Sanction of course can slow down trade. One reason why Socialism doesn't work is because it generally hinders trade. If you had a form of socialism that was based on idea of promoting trade, it might work- it certainly would work better than most forms socialism so far seen.
