We're talking the Armed Forces of the United States of America, the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard against a rag-tag third-world country. Please think about that. The mightiest military in the world X10, or so, against a bunch of ragamuffins.

2 1/2 years after "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" they're getting stronger, better equipped and organized, inflicting more casualties. Long after the "last throes" they're showing no signs of any "throes", let alone the last ones.

If Bush knew how to do this he would have done it before. After all, it's always been "stay the course". It's always been on track, GOOD NEWS. And it's always been doomed. Not always, but 3 days after it started, when the oil fields were protected but looting encouraged, it was over.

If the popularly elected democratic government were popular and democratic, it wouldn't need a foreign occupying army to keep it in power. It could wander outside the Green Zone.

Nope, it's lost, and Conservatives started it, fought it and lost it. All by themselves. l

Adults accept the consequences of their actions. Children try not to. Accept the responsibility and help Iraq, the US and the world heal.

The alternative is to continue wasting the lives of some great people.
