The document was written by a muslum group, not by educators. The muslim group hopes to write themselves into the history taught to British children as THE people who invented science, technology, and just about everything else. Their document excludes the contributions of other groups to British history, notably Christians. The title of the document "Towards Greater Understanding" is itself a contradiction, since imposing religion on children prevents greater understanding. This battle is being fought in the US as christian fanatics sue to have "intelligent design" included in textbooks and school curriculum.
I would suggest that any "inventions" made throughout history were made by people who used their brains to solve a specific problem, and religous notions had nothing to do with it. I would also suggest that religous beliefs, whether muslim, christian, hindu, sikh, buddist, or whatever, are erroneous, and therefore do nothing to improve anyone's understanding of anything.
People have a hard enough time understanding science without being in error. They don't need the foolish contradictions that religion gives them.
