Well...
While I certainly see the point in what you are saying, it does not really answer how the president can have a 37% over-all approval rating and a 76% approval rating among republicans (IE- the numbers ton't line up with republicans realizing what a FUBAR the president is). In other words: If the republicans are not abandoning the president, then the populace is probably abandoning the repubilcans. Maybe I'm not catching what you are saying?
