Riverbend was one of the privileged class before the war. She wasn't missing meals. She didn't have children suffering from sanctions. Her blog has described things around their home that indicate considerable wealth prior to the war, at least by Iraqi standards.
She worked at a software company prior to the war. Hints from her blog indicate her family was well-placed in government, possibly diplomats. She was born in Iraq, raised abroad as a child, and returned to Baghdad in her early teens, which would have been in the early 1990s. Her English is flawless, which suggest she lived in the U.S. or Canada during that time.
In short, while her writing is very good, and her blog is informative--I read it myself now and then--I would not consider her opinions to be representative of Iraq's people as a whole any more than I would consider the opinion of Scarlett O'Hara to represent an accurate picture of the pre-Civil-War South.

Sunni Iraqis, that is.
