Not sure where everyone else has been.
Most people knew he was in western Pakistan four years ago. The main difficulty, of course, has been mounting attacks on Pakistan's territory without the cooperation of its government, which has been spotty so far, to use a gross understatement, and would have to be covert so the leadership doesn't lose support.
Then again, any attack on bin Laden would meet with your immediate outrage since no doubt some civilians would be killed. You can tell the civilians--they're the ones out of uniform.
I recommend going out and doing some background research on what exactly has been happening in western Pakistan over the past year or two. It's instructive.
