Well if those structures are insured, it is a complete waste...

They will be wiped off their stilts sometime in the next 10, 20, or 30 years...

Of course, that is all they can be depreciated for anyway, so I guess it is a gamble worth taking to some people...But the government should not be the one financing and insuring the gamblers.

But then people build in fault zones too...The next hhouse destroying quake might be minutes away.
