Thing is, I do own a TV -- a second-hand 13" Trinitron, practically an antique. I also have a DVD player (a gift from a friend), so I can watch movies if I sit close enough. I'll keep Rome in mind for rental.

I live close enough to a major market that 'rabbit ears' or their equivalent would probably pull in a useful signal. I just don't need the blather.
