Louisiana is way too mushy.

If there had been hard rock anywhere in the equation, it probably wouldn't have been so serious. The mine would have been lost, but the hole wouldn't have eroded much past 14 inches wide. Never mind hauling in much of the surrounding landscape.

I'm no geologist, but I think that whole state is mostly mud.
