"Pentagon: 'Civil war' inadequate term for Iraq war." And how 'bout 'quagmire'?
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- "A new Pentagon report said some elements of the war in Iraq fit the definition of civil war, but the term "does not adequately capture the complexity of the conflict."
So, it's complex. On their side. "Civil war" + fighting a foreign occupation + resisting an unpopular puppet government.
On our side, "quagmire" doesn't adequately capture it, either. An illegal invasion, immoral treatment of the civilian population and looting of the countries resources have to be added.
The good ol' DoD does it again.
