Apparently Dr. Bussard is in ill-health and someone named Tom Ligon, who worked with him on one of his devices, might fill in for him at conferences and such. This Nasa Spaceflight forum thread is current as of today (March 18, 2007), straight from the horse's mouth. The same person posted regularly on fusor.net forums over the last few months.
I wish the emc2fusion.org website had more technical information, but I bet there's patent issues. I really don't know why it isn't being funded. It's kinda wierd.
