New Horizon's disappointment.
I understand the technical reason
why the New Horizon's spacecraft could
neither take nor transmit color images
of Jupiter and its moons during its recent flyby,
but why couldn't John Hopkins University
computer labs come to the rescue and
convert the "gray tones" in the B& W images
into faithful color renditions?...
Ted Turner's technicians do that routinely when they convert old B & W
movies into color.
And even more amazing, why
aren't the computer geeks over at unmannedspaceflight.com
doing just that? Why aren't any of them converting those closeup B & W Jovian images,
taken by the New Horizon's spacecraft,
into color with their software and equipment?
Hmmmmm..... We have a mystery.
