No one can predict the future, but I believe it is more likely the situation will resolve itself into some form acceptable to us if we are not there.
A very good post, and I do hope you realize that none of the things you said in it would lead a reasonable person to the above conclusion.
Incidentally, our side is pretty resilient too. Spend some time at military sites, particularly ones written by people actually over there. Like others here, you are probably getting most of your information from people who don't want this war to succeed.
