Speaking of RR, when I was a kid, there was a delicious urban legend circulating in the Cuban community in Tampa, totally unsubstantiated of course, but it refused to go away.
According to the little old lady grapevine, Dale Evans died and Roy Rogers married her twin sister so as not to break up the act.
When you tried to point out there was absolutely no evidence of this, people would nod sagely and look at you as if you were a helpless innocent and remark "Of course there's no proof, they covered it all up."
