I could encrypt the folders if I wanted to. I wouldn't mind Turbo Tax throwing automatic encryption in as a feature, but I save my printouts in PDF format anyway, so there it is. I've got nothing in there I'm worried about someone looking at.
All my tax information is floating around in government files anyway, and my Social Security number is in hundreds of databases by now, so not sure how much I should sweat it in the first place.
Not having to bare your financial soul every year to the goverment is another good reason for simplifying tax laws.
