Invading and occupying a country (especially one that was nor responsible for 9-11, nor had WMD's nor was a threat to even its neighbours) must be completely discouraged and condemned...And the way it is turning out is a vindication for those who opposed it from the beginning.
The US is stuck in the quagmire it got itself into because it forgot that what mattered was not to win the war but to win the peace.

And if winning the peace means losing the war, then so be it.
