And, "they" want it more than does the US.

When Bush says "our coalition has the means and the will to prevail" he couldn't be more wrong. The simple reality is that "they" want "it" more than does the US.

How many US soldiers would accept a suicide mission in order to kill a few Iraqis? I'm not talking about the heat of battle, I'm talking about routinely heading out in hopes of killing a few by blowing oneself up.

None, and the American public wouldn't tolerate that, either.

Yet they do it over and over and over, with the bombers being heroes and heroines to many.

It's their land, their culture, their religion, their houses, their families, their way of life, evolved over thousands of years and they want it. McDonalds, that flagship of American culture, isn't the ideal for a lot of people. Contrary to the Bush Philosophy, they don't hate us because we have 24 hour Golden Arches on every freeway interchange for our kids to work in. They don't necessarily want HDTVs at the cost of family structure. A standard of living which requires everyone to work to support the machines which allows everyone to work, at odd hours, at the cost of community, isn't a bargain in many cultures. Only a culture of consumption rather than a culture of community would value "stuff" over family structure.

They want "it" more, and they'll get it. Regardless of what Bush says about "testing the will of civilized countries".
