The poll results are here.

Notice that in the last nine or so polls from this company, this seems to be only the second time the Congress has had a higher approval rating than Bush, including two of the polls AFTER the 2006 election (Bush's rating has held between 32 and 39 percent through that whole period).

Yet the story is written as though this is a big breakthrough. I don't remember seeing any news stories in January and March when Bush polled higher than the Democratic congress.

Of course Congress is polling higher than last year. The entire year of 2006 was a nonstop media shitstorm against Republican congress members. Now, with Pelosi in charge (theoretically) the honeymoon is on.
