Now that's interesting

Am currently reading Leonard Susskind's book, The Cosmic Landscape, which argues that what we regard as the universe is a small part of a much larger cosmic landscape in which the physical constants vary from "place" to "place." Kind of a different take on the multiverse idea. But frankly, I find Paul Davies' idea here inexplicably more satisfying, although it may well be a different way of saying precisely the same thing.
