re: Which Tenet are we supposed to believe?

The head of the CIA Tenet who said in 2002; "We have solid reporting of senior level contacts between Iraq and al-Qaeda going back a decade." Iraq and al Qaeda "have discussed safe haven and reciprocal non-aggression."

And said; "We have credible reporting that al-Qaeda leaders sought contacts in Iraq who could help them acquire WMD capabilities.

And said; “Iraq has provided training to al-Qaeda members in the areas of poisons and gases and making conventional bombs."

And said; "Iraq's increasing support to extremist Palestinians, coupled with growing indications of a relationship with al-Qaeda, suggest that Baghdad's links to terrorists will increase, even absent US military action."

And said (under oath) that there is “little chance you’ll find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq unless Hussein cooperates with inspectors." and he would expect U.S. troops “will find caches of weapons of mass destruction, absolutely, were they to invade the country."

And finally (but not all of his hypocrisy) when talking to the committee; "I was talking to the national security adviser and the president and the vice president every day. I certainly didn't get a sense that anybody was not paying attention to what I was doing and what I was briefing and what my concerns were and what we were trying to do."

Or are supposed to believe the Tenet who is making the rounds promoting his book on hopes of making hundreds of thousands of dollars all the while in hopes of regaining reconnection from his democratic roots?

Even people who don’t like the current White House are saying Tenet is trying to have it both ways and is merely trying to shift blame on his failed CIA policies to others.

The facts on what he said back then and now don’t add up. But hey, it will sell books and give the democrats false Bush bashing materials.
