If the regular participants here were capable of real discussion, I think we would have seen it by now. I interpret that one way; you, probably another.

In any event, every so often, I stop by for as long as I can stand it to see if there is any real discussion taking place, and to offer some of my own views where it seems appropriate or topical. I'm always hopful of getting a thought-provoking response, being treated to an interesting story - like yours - or just reading a good writer. There's always something new to be learned when I find something like that.

I see most of the truly obnoxious, foul-mouted posters are gone, and that is a definite improvement, but many of the ostensibly left-leaning posters here have curious views, in my estimation. Maybe that's what passes for liberal these days - so corrupted have people's minds become from the "Mighty Wurlitzer" of lies and spin; then again, maybe not.

Many Americans now see the cascade of lies that got us into Iraq - lies that you and I and others repeatedly pointed out during the run-up to the invasion - but refuse to consider the many holes in the official myth of 9/11, which is in fact the achilles heel of this entire Bush administration, and the springboard for many of its crooked policies.

Yes, the outlines of that pacyderm in the parlor finally have come into focus for most, but in other corner, there sits T. Rex, and I suppose that's just too horrifying for many folks to consider.

These are not good times. My encouragement comes from people like yourself who care about all living things, and try to make this planet a better place to live.

Peace & best wishes
