Oh, but have you ever heard him play the piano?
Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley are his cousins. They all studied piano together. Once, years ago, before he became an industry, I saw Swaggart play a mean honkey-tonk gospel number on his show. He used to do an entertainment portion on the front end of his show, as a hook, and then he'd commence to a-preachin' and a-weepin' and a-pleadin' for other people's money.
He has talent, no doubt about it. Too bad he didn't use it to raise money as a musician and then donate his own money to his cause, rather than trying to guilt the gullible out of their money instead.
