Your definition of "Muslim liberals" would depend on how many you know. I know some. They go to mosque, they pray five times a day, they go to work, they vote, they pay their taxes, their kids go to public schools, they don't seek to tell their neighbors how to be, and they don't appreciate being called fundamentalists. I don't give the girls a hard time for their headscarves any more than I give the Jewish boys a hard time for their hats. When they come to get their passport photos taken, they all have to take their headgear off as per Federal regulation, and none of them, Muslim or Jew, give me a hard time about that. They don't shoot or stone their neighbors. Just plain regular people.

I know followers of Falwell. They are not secularists. They want the US to be a "Christian" nation, where they define what a Christian is. I'm not about to compare them to Muslims of any type, except those who are fellow citizens of the United States. Falwell, Robertson and those like them seek to undermine the First Amendment. My country, my Constitution, my business.

To say that Falwell and friends are OK because other people are worse doesn't work for me. They are not OK. I detest everything they stand for.
