Treaties and minerals

A country can always declare it doesn't want to accept a treaty anymore. It solemnly says so and one year and one day later, there are no more obligations to respect it.

Minerals abound but are we interested in them?
What's far more important is to be able to produce goods with less matter. Reducing our dependancy on countries that have minerals is something every modern country understands it must do, which makes hunting for them less a priority (especially when another issue is to reduce CO2 emissions).
