A few examples from the french language
Landing on Earth (land) is "Atterrir"
Amerrir: landing on the sea (sea=mer)
When the moment it really happened, everybody used "Alunir" to mean landing on the Moon (Moon=Lune).
But then, it was noticed that if they would one day land on Mars, they'd have to say "Amarsir" or land on Venus "Avenusir".....OUCH, something was wrong...So, "Alunir" was kind of banned from dictionaries and we now use "atterrir" for any kind of world (like in english, the verb "to land").
Amerrir is still used, though.
