The Democrats forced that inclusion into the bill. The Democrats are just as much the party of Big Oil as the GOP. Big Oil owns all politicians where their contributed money elects them.
Don't set all this down at Bush's feet. Big oil will ONLY be brought down by market economics - namely alternative technologies and alternative fuels. And like TB reminds everyone - it wouldn't hurt for Dems to rein in the frothing greenies so we can drill and tap our own resources more effectively to ease our dependency on foreign sources.
