I should have framed my statement better now that I reread it because I don't want to be guilty of creating this Democratic Party entity that black and white thinkers like yourself so often do. I'm disappointed by certain leaders of the Democratic Party. The rank and file public that makes up the party contains some exquisite human beings.
See Tom, that's the distinction between more liberal or progressive thought patterns and this strict conservatism that you hold onto. I can openly criticize a party that I will probably vote for more often than their opposition in the hopes of making them better. You however almost never point out the warts in your own choices. If individuals are in line with the party platform then there's no room for criticism. It's only when they deviate from those set in stone guidelines that you'd dare to point out their mistakes.
I don't believe in party platforms actually. I think it shows rigidity in analytical thinking. Conditions in the modern world change rapidly and an intelligent individual adjusts their strategy along with that change.
What's interesting in your response (actually not surprising given your habit of reframing conversations) is that you totally overlooked the subject of what I was truly saying that there's this elite group in Washington made up of power players from both parties that could care less about an issue other than how it benefits their own strength and finances and that it's time to illuminate those true traitors to the traditions of our republic.
Those players from both sides attempted to suck Cindy Sheehan into that insanity and that's what she rebelled against. There's the underpinnings of an almost revolutionary new power that's standing up to this elite these days and I'm surprised, with all your talk of libertarianism that you're not attracted to it. My guess is that you're still drunk with the power you felt from the good old boy network you aligned yourself with over the past decade and that addiction won't die easily.
What's funny is that you've turned into the very thing you rail against on here. You've become a blustering, gaseous, "conservative" Ted Kennedy.
