Somewhere, Tesla is smiling...

Beamed power in your house!

Well, maybe not MY house.

It is not going to surprise anyone that I tend to be skeptical about a lot of "environmental hazard" claims. But common sense is still common sense, and I don't think I would want enough juice pumped through the air in my house (and through me!) to run electrical appliances.

Read Robert Heinlein's "Waldo."

So far, there is no hard evidence of real harm from constant electromagnetic exposures at low levels, but I'm hoping our society keeps a close eye on this. It's only been in recent years that people have lived in environments exposed to constant radio and HF waves. We're now constantly steeped in WiFi, cell phone, Bluetooth, TV, and many other things. Actually, the only thing dying down is broadcast TV. Maybe there will be some unpleasant surprises a generation or two down the road as this increases. As I said, nobody has found a problem so far, but I suspect that if we start ramming heavy-duty power through the air, that will change.
