Remember...
It's the "white crow" thing. The theory has to cover the discrepancies, and there are a LOT of them.
It isn't just about the science being right. It's about putting all the science together and still having it make sense.
This issue is mostly political, now, and too much science--along with a lot of scientists--is getting left behind.
