I want to go up and slap Hispanic mothers I see in grocery stores that are babbling with their young children in Spanish when it's obvious they could speak publicly with them in English.
I see nothing wrong with ensuring those children have skills in both languages but the push from parents needs to be accentuating English in this country. Like the Governator, I know statements like this are likely to label one as racist, but I view it more as just a call for common sense and an urge for immigrants to take advantage of the strength and economic advantage of a country with a common language.
If Hispanic aliens continue to stress their native dialect, it really isn't going to affect my life much since I can choose to ignore the people and businesses that I can't communicate easily with. However, these folks are going to have a disadvantage in this country if their English language skills aren't up to the national standard.
Arnold shows some true common sense from time to time.
