All the Old Style Pizza Parlours are MIA
Re development here in the NE USA is forcing the 80+ year old pizza parlours that once were Italian bakeries out of business, the land they sit on in downtown areas is more valuable than the product and atmosphere they serve. Case in point, a local pizza joint that was OLD STYLE (ie.....brick hearth oven and wood/coal combo for the heat source) was deeemed blighted by the city governemnt and taken to build a new municipal complex. turns out the council did'nt want the competition from the local mom and pop stores when they opened their own snack bar in the complex. Go figure....and let 'em eat DOMINO'S!
