Lindy,

There are mercenaries working here in the US from foreign nations. They integrate themselves into US life and are indiscernible from other citizens aside from the fact that they have an ulterior motive for being here and are on some foreign nations payroll. Some are here to steal business, some to steal technology and others are here to kill people and yet others are here to stir dissension and unrest.

In a perfect world everyone is nice and other nations share our fundamental beliefs and value for human liberty and freedom.

This is not a perfect world.

Until it is a lot closer to one, there will always be armies, mercenaries and secret agents. There will be death and dying, robbing and stealing & spying and intrigue.

Mercenaries have been employed since the founding fathers first penned the documents forming this nation.

In a perfect world mercenaries would be obsolete relics of man's barbaric past. Unfortunately, much of the world is still very barbaric and many enlightened folks seem to think this is A-OK or in their twisted minds some form of religious or political freedom.

It's not.

And so all the armies official and unofficial will remain.
