Do you think the Muslim world can embrace freedom and democracy?
If not, then our efforts there are in vain.
I do believe freedom will (and is already) cause changes over there. Many will fight it, but many will embrace it. Eventually, with each new generation, freedom will change the region and kick out the ancient oppressive views.
Muslim women seem to have embraced freedom more than the rest. Perhaps that is because they were the most oppressed under Muslim rule.
