Well, it was about as you might expect. The True Believers were after Clinton hammer and tong, rabid about it.

I liked Clinton's politics, but thought he ought to resign, being morally unfit for high office. He violated a basic trust, and the ladies with whom he had had dalliances, real, attempted or fancied were bitterly savaged in the press. Not right. I still think he's a poor excuse for a human being, and don't respect any woman who would stay married to him. That's not a life. (Even though I may like her politics, especially compared to those of a "compassionate conservative", leaving no millionaire behind.)

How it was is how it is, except the Right is now willing to overlook Bush's lies, Cheney's lies, Rumsfeld's lies, etc., whereas a married man lying about a blow job was to them as bad as it can get.

Frankly, the True Believers around here are complete hypocrites when it comes to their reaction to Clinton compared to Bush.
