Isn't that the question you should be asking?

I'm assuming you're planning on voting Democrat in 2008. It might be good to figure this out before you hand the nation's defense over to Hillary or Obama.

The Iraqi government and the military leadership over there are asking for more time. Almost every damn thing I see from troops and others on the ground over there tells me it isn't time to give up yet.

In the face of this, the Democrats are desperate to shut the war down before the election. Everything they say, and every action they take, makes it look like they believe success in Iraq would be the worst possible thing that could happen to them. They are more frantic now than when things looked a lot worse. No rational person believes that "change of course" means anything other than "give up."

So what do you think their motives are? Hint: it isn't "anti-Americanism." They aren't that sophisticated.

Remember, I'm looking at consistent patterns of behavior that go back a lot further than 2001.
