What if God isn't what you and other think

I have always liked to toy with the idea that perhaps our Universe was
created by an advanced being, but not the Omnipotent Supreme Being
that humanity has worshipped in various forms over the ages.

What if our God is basically a guy from another universe who made our
Universe in the equivalent of his lab, to see if it would work. There is
the theory that a society with the technology to "squeeze off" a piece
of their universe could create a new "baby" universe in the process.

The creators would be unable to contact or ever learn anything about
the universe they made, however. This would certainly fall in well with
the Deists, who conjecture that God made the Universe, got it running,
then went off to do something else - maybe make other universes.

It's all speculation, of course, but it might satisfy both those who say we
were deliberately made and those who say that we are on our own.

Oh, who am I kidding. God's a big old white guy sitting on a throne
counting the fall of every sparrow, right? Right.
