The Apollo 1 fire changed a lot at NASA too
Apollo 1 forced a complete revision of the Apollo program...It reduced the number of flights before the landing but it also made the landing on the Moon an end by itself rather than a mean for something greater...and the Apollo program was cut short.
At least, Apollo was a politically motivated program, which is not the case for tourism in a parabolic flight.
