Let's see, in the world of shrieking insanity and with fingers pointing at others in what can easily be mistaken for a hideous rigor mortis, so far the Democrats have:

1. Gone after Cheney, then Rove, then Scooter Libby...and wasted umpteen million dollars for nothing.

2. Helped demand we leave Iraq and one of the best tactical positions we have had in the middle east for over fifty years.

3. With Bush and other sell-out elements of the GOP tried to legalize illegal immigrants and destroy the US economy permanently.

4. Gone after Gonzales, for some US attorney firings that are about as consequential as diddly squat.

5. Hype global warming and do their best to shift the US economy from an industrial producer to a foreign subsidizer as is desired by Europe, Asia and the 3rd world.

6. Chased US contractors about Iraq projects that have had difficulties and setbacks.

Since their self-declared "mandate" they have done...well, nothing of consequence. As a citizen, I have watched and they have demonstrated the same power-hungry methods of using the ignorant to prop them into power which has served them since about 1936 - and nothing has changed only the demographics of the ignorant folks they plan to exploit.

And then I look at Hillary, Obama and Gore and envision what their "historic" Presidential terms would look like and it is just more US decay at an even faster pace than the slow decline we are enjoying under Bush.

The GOP should be humbled because they are and were almost equally ineffectual and have well-earned their supporters displeasure. They sell out only 2/3rds the time the Democrats sell out. Great achievement! A 3rd party has no chance, leaving one stuck with dumb and dumber, corrupt and more corrupt.

Politics is a poison pill indeed. And aligning oneself too strongly with any party or "-ism", and expecting them to "save you", is sure folly.
