Excellent analysis of the status quo.
Great resolutions. Sometimes I get a bit hot under the collar at defense of what I consider indefensible but I do moderate my responses.
I quit visiting the board quite awhile ago because of an overabundance of right-wing political dogma. It seems a bit more balanced now. There's both right-wing and left-wing political dogma. :-) (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Seriously, though, the one thing that always gets my goat is when someone starts trying to paint one or the other side with broad brush strokes. I know Republicans I like and respect (no matter how misguided they may be ;-). I am a liberal but certainly not a flaming one. I even have some beliefs in common with conservatives.
I was listening to NPR the other day when they were discussing a Texas Republican (two words when used together are usually anathema to me), Ron Paul, and I liked a lot of what he had to say. I thought "here's one I could live with." I don't know if I'd vote for him (at least not yet, needs more research) but at least he's someone I'd consider to be "MY PRESIDENT." I have never called Bush that. He's not MY anything. He's the Republicans' President. The Democrats HAVE no president. That is probably the saddest thing that Bush has done to this country. He is so divisive, half of the country disowns him. His own party is starting to disown him because they are fighting for their political lives..
