thanks for the tips

Too bad on the transparency, I do so like the x-ray vision in Sketch-up, would love to be able to do it on a layer-by-layer or object level.

Ah! I see the move-copy paperspace option now. That should help my organization!

Good thing with the scales, more incentive to upgrade. Am I going to be shocked at the changes in 2008; or will I be able to get up and running easily?

I've created a junk layer...that's a big help. It drives me crazy trying to clean up a drawing file when there are layers that simply refuse to delete or purge.

What I like about sketchup is the print rendering is automatic ... but I'd have to create all new drawing frames for sketchup and I don't have time for that. I can work around using a raster editor and place as tiff into paperspace, but I always lose flexability and resoulution.

I've been typing "regen" into the line commands for so long it takes as long as clicking an icon. Never could find it in the customize button catalog, and have never taken the time to create my own. Same goes for View / 3dviews / plan view / current ucs. I use that constantly. I'm sure I'm just missing something, like a toggle to set so that when I create a new UCS using 3-points it automatically changes to that view. I've some files that do that, others that don't.

Don't know when I'll get 'round to upgrading, but hopefully soon. But when I do I shall seriously consider your advice to join AUGI.

One more ... is there a way to create a line, or 3dpolyline, where I can assign a plunge to the line? In otherwords, I can input @100<270 and create the line in a horizontal plane, but I need to add another dimension, namely the angle down from horizontal (plunge). Can I do something like @100<270<45 (distance, bearing, plunge) ?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my previous questions, Steve, I do appreciate it.
