re: Neil deGrasse Tyson's Parade article on why America needs to explore space
I made the mistake of comparing Tyson with Sagan to some pro’s on the Beyond Belief forum and promptly had my head handed to me. It turns out that many in that group, who make up most of my personal heroes, think he is a self aggrandizing pompous ass and should never be mentioned in the same breath with Sagan.
Clearly Sagan was not self aggrandizing and Tyson is a bit but I still admire him for bringing science to the masses in a clear understandable and exciting way.
I say we need more people like him.
