Yes, you are and I'm one of you. Sagan's gone and Tyson's not as bad as you think. At least or at most he's trying.
And I agree with you about the negative aspects of using too much humor and, obviously of using too much watered down science.
We live in different times now.
Maybe I'm joining you in expressing myself from an earlier generation. I hope those days come back since science has always had its place and everything else has been adjective and/or subjective to it, Sci-fi and Pop Culture included.
